The Unite Pompano Initiative

Pompano Beach already has the Unity in the Community effort. Why do we need another effort to unite Pompano?

Unity in the Community is a great asset to Pompano Beach. The efforts of Mayor Lamar Fisher and other city officials, Broward Sheriff’s Office, local churches and pastors, local businesses, and our citizens who have worked to make the annual Family Fun Day successful have been tremendous. It is truly a Pompano Beach treasure.

By itself, the annual Family Fun Day has already begun to bridge the divide between east and west Pompano.Yet, there’s more we can do. Unite Pompano creates a way of thinking that forces us to always consider the needs of our residents and our business community. It ensures that we make every effort to unite our city by constantly remembering the least, the lost and the left out; by creating equitable practices in government spending; by ensuring that people in west Pompano are not disenfranchised by our government’s spending decisions in east Pompano (and vice versa). It ensures a fair share for everyone, regardless of where you live or where your business is located in Pompano Beach.

Having an agenda to “unite Pompano” be at the forefront of our thinking, we will break the mold on creating equitable practices and plans to grow our city by bringing everyone together.
